Parma City Council Honors Heroic Padua High School Employee
At the Sept. 19 Parma City Council meeting, Parma Mayor Tim DeGeeter, Ward 5 Councilman Allan Divis and Ward 7 Councilwoman Kammy Coyle Shuman recognized Padua Franciscan High School cafeteria worker Megan Kulikowski for her heroic actions. On Sept. 1, a red-faced student approached Kulikowski during lunch, leaned into her and gasped the word, “Help.” The four-year cafeteria worker called for assistance and then immediately performed the Heimlich maneuver, saving the choking student’s life. A humble Kulikowski said she does not perceive herself a hero and that any Padua lunch employee would have done the same.
