Beyond The Camera

Samantha Bias

This is a must see event! Beyond The Camera is an exhibition of a wide variety of photographic images where the photographers have used their creativity to push through the boundaries of a traditional photo. It runs through October 24th at Prama Artspace & Gallery in Parma. Beyond The Camera is part of the 2019 Cleveland Photo Fest. Prama is proud to have the opportunity to present this to the public.

This is a truly professional exhibition by a dozen of the area’s finest. The exhibitors in this event are Hadley K Conner with encaustic mixed media photographs, Stephen Kasner with altered instant photographs, Steven Mastroianni with photograms, Brent Gemmill with interactive kinetic photo sculpture, Stephen Calhoun with manipulated mandalas, Tim Lachina with multi-process work, Tom Masaveg & Laura D’Alessandro with augmented reality, Bill Hoose with illuminated images, Susan Griffith with photograms, and Samantha Bias with chlorophyll & cyanotype.

A prime example of creativity at work, is Samantha Bias’s chlorophyll and cyanotype based photograms. Her portraits on natural leaves are breath taking. Samantha is a multi-talented artist. She has gained recognition throughout the area galleries and has won several major awards for her moody watercolor portraits that also include natural elements like flora and insects and found objects. Her stunning watercolor won Best Watercolor in the Parma Area Fine Arts Show this May.
