MyCom Youth Corner
MyCom: Connecting Greater Cleveland’s Youth To Their Communities and Their Future
Mission: To assess and evaluate current youth-oriented programs and services and identify gaps; and develop strategies to fill those gaps
Vision Statement: By the year 2019, our community will encourage, support, and provide resources and activities so youth will be self-sufficient and have strong core values, which help them become successful adults that are active and an integral part of their community
In three years: Parma youth are living purposefully in a supportive community. They possess strong core values, are setting goals, and are successfully achieving them.
-
MyCom community partners offer youth programs and services specifically focused in the areas of: Youth Engagement, Out-of-School Time, Transitions, and Advocacy; while also paying attention to Health & Safety and Youth Employment
-
Our communities have a dedicated partnership to provide youth with academic and life skills needed to be self-sufficient and self-sustaining adults
-
A solid strategic plan has been adopted and is reviewed and revised annually to meet the ever-changing needs of youth and outcomes desired
-
There are safe places to go after school, in the neighborhoods, that provide a comprehensive, asset-based concept and continuum of services as related to the developmental stages of youth
-
The community supports youth with creative partnership programs to promote healthy development
-
Youth have a voice in the community and participate in the planning of all future strategic plans
-
There are multiple media avenues for effective communication to keep youth and adults engaged and knowledgeable about current services and programs for youth
-
Collaborative avenues of transportation for youth are user friendly and minimal or no cost
-
Youth and adults coordinate intergenerational culturally diverse activities within communities
-
The Parma MyCom Goals are known and respected for their creative and innovative methods for reaching all youth so they successfully transition into adulthood
