2)   Christopher R. Higgs, W/M, 19 years-old, listing an address in the 3300 block of Meyer Avenue in Cleveland.

3)   Steven T. Lewis, W/M, 23 years old, listing an address in the 3300 block of Meyer Avenue in Cleveland.

All three men are charged with one count each of Aggravated Burglary, a felony of the first degree. They are scheduled to appear in Parma Municipal Court on Monday, January 25, 2016 at 10:30am.

On January 21, 2016 at approximately 6:15am, Parma Police received a call from a resident on Friar Drive who reported that a male from another residence on the street knocked on their door stating he was the victim of a home invasion. Police later learned that three males, whom police believe to be Garret, Higgs and Lewis, entered the victim’s home and severely beat him, causing serious injuries to the victim’s face, jaw and body. After beating the victim, the three men tied him up and then ransacked the victim’s home, removing the victim’s personal property. Afterwards, the suspects fled the area in the victim’s van.

Several minutes after the call, a Parma officer observed the stolen van heading northbound on State Road near Wellington Avenue. The officer attempted to the stop the van, at which time the driver fled, leading officers on a pursuit. Police believe that Garret was the driver of the van. The pursuit entered into Cleveland and ended when the driver of the van crashed into a house in the 6200 block of Delora Avenue in Brooklyn. All three men fled from the accident scene and were later captured by police officers from Parma, Brooklyn and Cleveland.

The victim was taken to Metro Hospital and was treated for his injuries.

The Parma Police Department would like to thank the officers from the Brooklyn and Cleveland Police Departments for their assistance in capturing these three men.
