Parma Police Charge Man In Connection With December 17th Armed Home Invasion

Parma Police arrested a Cleveland man in connection with a December 17th armed home invasion that occurred on Spring Garden Drive in Parma. Eugene D. Gill, B/M, 24 years-old, listing an address in the 8000 block of Willard Drive in Cleveland. Gill is currently being held at the Parma Police Detention Center and has been charged with one count of Aggravated Robbery, a felony of the first degree. He is currently being held on a $150,000 cash bond. Further criminal charges are anticipated after consultation with prosecutors. 

On December 17, 2015 at approximately 3:30pm, Parma Police responded to a house in the 7900 block of Spring Garden Road for a report of a male inside of the home pointing a gun at the residents. Police responded to the area and observed a male suspect, later identified as Gill, walking away from the scene. When Gill saw the police, he began fleeing the area on foot. Gill led on officers on a short foot pursuit and ran into the back yards of several houses on the street. Gill was later captured in the area of W. 79th Street and Bertha Avenue as he was running from officers.

Police later learned Gill entered the victim’s home and began threatening to kill several people with a gun. Gill allegedly pointed the gun at a female victim and robbed her of her cell phone before fleeing from the house.

The following day, police recovered the handgun that Gill allegedly used during the home invasion in the backyard of a nearby residence.
