Cooking In The Gardens Heats Up HealthiHer On Aug. 18
Best-selling author and transformational expert Marci Shimoff will speak at Parma Hospital's Third Annual HealthiHer Retreat on Saturday, October 15.
HealthiHer, Parma Hospital’s complimentary women’s health and wellness program, is hosting two entertaining events: an evening cooking event in August and a morning retreat in the autumn.
On August 18, Cooking in the Gardens will give guests a fresh taste of healthy eating.
Held from 6 to 8 p.m. at Maria Gardens in North Royalton, guests will learn the best ways to grow a garden with limited space. Enjoy a cooking demonstration with fresh garden produce and take home some new recipes. Family owned and operated for more than three generations, Maria Gardens at 10301 W. 130th St. offers a wide variety of gardening and landscaping products. Those who attend the event will receive a 20 percent shopping discount, and the store will remain open until 9 p.m. for your shopping pleasure.
The event is free for members of HealthiHer. Women can join this complimentary health and wellness program simply by calling 440-743-4900 or going to www.parmahospital.org/healthiher.
Those who join HealthiHer also will receive a discount on the half-day retreat on Saturday, October 15 featuring Marci Shimoff, a world-renowned transformational expert. The author of Love for No Reason and Happy for No Reason, and woman's face of six bestselling Chicken Soup for the Soul books, Shimoff will energize participants on their path to "A Happier and Healthier You.” The event, held at the Holiday Inn in Strongsville from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., is $35 for members and $40 for non-members and includes a healthy breakfast and lunch.
