Metroparks Fern Hill Restoration Tour

EXPLORE the new stormwater treatment wetland adjacent to Big Creek. Join Big Creek Connects and a Cleveland Metroparks Naturalist for an on-site tour of wetland restoration. Fern Hill is located on Big Creek Parkway, just south of Brookpark Road in the City of Parma.
Learn about the new construction that treats stormwater from upland areas with installation of this wetland near Big Creek. Runoff from the 50-acre residential neighborhood west of Hauserman Road is diverting into this created wetland, designed to capture, slow and infiltrate its flow, and provide some water quality treatment. The project provides a trail and highly desirable wetland habitat.
This $150,000 project, funded through Ohio EPA’s Surface Waters Improvement Fund (SWIF) is a collaboration of the City of Parma, Cleveland Metroparks and Big Creek Connects.
